TYPICAL OF GRAND GEORGIAN HOUSES, AN INTIMATE SITTING ROOM IS THE COPPICE ROOM’S CENTREPIECE. FROM THERE, A BAY WINDOW OPENS ONTO CAPTIVATING VIEWS ACROSS THE LAKE AND THE ESTATE.

The Coppice Room’s Gillow armchair has been ebonized and upholstered in velvet. The Gillow family were 18th century craftspeople working in Lancaster and London, and were makers of great reputation, noted for their use of mahogany.
