SUMMER SOLSTICE EVENT: Make Scents of Heckfield/Essential Oils Blending
Join an essential oils and hands-on blending workshop with leading scent creator Maurice Joosten, Scent Architect/Artist @aroma.
Welcomed with a Heckfield cordial, you'll enjoy a tour of the Walled Garden, learn the basics of blending and leave with Wildsmith Skin's The Bothy Candle (scented with chamomile, rose and sage from our Walled Garden).
You'll be guided on a practical hands-on course blending essential oils to discover and directly experience the power of scents.
Scent is everything to Heckfield. As Maurice explains, “We created a scent identity for Heckfield Place. The inspiration for it was to bring the outside inside the house. It’s a scent that was inspired by high summer and the flowers that grow in the walled gardens — roses, English lavender, camomile, and some herbal notes. It is a fresh scent with hints of lime and florals."
Maurice studied in Amsterdam at the Academy of Fine Arts and completed a research-fellowship/artist in residency at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in Amsterdam. From 2006 he started to work for @aroma Co., Ltd in Tokyo as a Scent Architect, creating natural fragrances for use in interior environments and brand communication projects. In 2013 he moved to Germany, where he is now leading the @aroma Design Studio Berlin.
