Highclere's Harry Herbert's tales from the turf
Join raconteur Harry Herbert, the legend behind Highclere Thoroughbred Racing (HTR), for a fascinating evening on the sport of kings.
Harry started Highclere Thoroughbred Racing Limited in 1992, swiftly becoming European leader in the field of syndication. As managers of The Royal Ascot Racing Club’s horses, Highclere were also responsible for 2005 Vodafone Derby winner, Motivator.
Harry is a Member of The Jockey Club, a Director of Newbury Racecourse plc and works closely with his brother-in-law John Warren buying yearlings as well as in many other areas of the industry. Between them, they have been responsible for the champion racehorses Harbinger, Memory, Petrushka, Tamarisk, Delilah and Lake Coniston.
Due to high demand, our pre-screening dinner Earth in Marle Restaurant (three-course fixed set menu as explained below) at 5.30pm needs to be reserved in advance. If you would like to book a table (subject to availability), please email restaurants.reser[email protected]
Bound by the rhythm of the seasons, our restaurants are fuelled by the biodynamic Market Garden and organic Home Farm. From gluts to unloved bits like beetroot tops, we hope not to waste an ounce of produce.
This daily-changing menu – echoing our Culinary Director Skye Gyngell’s ground-breaking Scratch menu at Spring in London – features elegantly simple, delicious food using ingredients that otherwise might have been overlooked.
Being inspired by what we have to hand means we cannot alter the early evening menu on the night. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, we suggest you order from the a la carte menu of the day.
